In the Quiet of My Dreams

Last night, you visited me again,
A shadow from the past, a bittersweet friend.
It’s been so long since you appeared this way,
But my heart still stirs, as if time didn’t stray.
In the dream, we danced on fragile lines,
Two souls bound by secrets, scared to entwine.
Your eyes met mine, a silent confession,
A flicker of love cloaked in repression.
I stayed awkward, my words a tangled thread,
But your gaze spoke volumes, unsaid.
Did you feel it too, that invisible tether?
Two hearts longing, yet lost to the weather.
I wonder, in your waking life, do you recall?
Do you dream of me, or not at all?
Your world seems bright, with her by your side,
And I’m happy for you, though my ache won’t subside.
Still, I’ll carry this spark, tucked away deep,
A question unanswered, a flame I keep.
Perhaps it was never meant to ignite,
But in my dreams, it glows, soft and bright.
So here I remain, as life moves on,
Wondering if our moment has come and gone.
A love unspoken, a story untold,
Forever a spark in the depths of my soul.
